Hey! Ho! Let’s go! Hey! Ho! Let’s go!
Last night, I saw a documentary on the Ramones, and it brought back a lot of memories of the Pioneers of Punk. Talk about a great band, who lasted a long long time. When writing this song, they wanted a song that the crowd could chant along with, to get into, and be that rallying cry, so they came up with the famous line: “Hey! Ho! Let’s go!” And the rest is pretty much history. Interesting fact, they didn’t get their first Gold record until Mondo Bizarro. But they didn’t care, they were like “we aren’t about making gold records, we survived a long time without them, and it’s not what we are about.” Gotta love the Ramones, about the music and the fans, never about the money…
