I know that Tranmission’s Tribute to John Hughes is done. And it was a fantastic time, and I didn’t want to leave, but work in the morning would have been too tough if I stayed until 2:00 in the morning. Lot’s of great songs, great crowd, and lot’s of people dressed as their favorite John Hughes characters. I went as Duckie, my wife as Iona, and our friends showed up as Sloane and Steff. Perfect. So, there were so many other songs that I wanted to post for the lead up to the night, but didn’t get a chance. This is one of them. One of the most underrated songs from The Thompson Twins, and the perfect ending song to Sixteen Candles. None of the band members were named Thompson or were twins. They named themselves after the two bumbling detectives, Thompson and Thompson in the comic strip, The Adventures of Tintin. John Hughes seemed to have a knack for choosing the right song for the right moment, and this is definitely one of them…
i’m enjoying all of your 80s postings. right up my alley.
Wait… Weren’t you a little young in the ’80s to be listening to this stuff? 😉
